Pokemon Go claims its first victims – Part 4

i m a 23 year old employee in a Banking/IT company. As you can guess, i was born in nineties and my entire childhood was just one word - POKEMON. i read about the launch of Pokemon Go on iOS and my thumb automatically went to AppStore -> Pokemon Go -> Get It! i could feel the 10 year younger version of me, dancing with excitement. Playing it just for 5 mins, i left for my office. Now this is where i screwed up. Employees of my company are allowed to use smartphones inside the premises BUT using camera is strictly prohibited as we have access to clients personal data. you can guess what happened next. i just thought of exploring the game option and settings and as soon as i opened it i encountered a wild ZUBAT! i instantly went into Ash mode and started throwing Pokeballs all over the screen holding the phone high in front of my face as if i was taking a selfie! (Zubat was flying, hence). then came voice from behind "excuse me sir, are you clicking photographs?!" and next thing i knew was my iPhone getting confiscated. I tried to post this yesterday but it got removed because security dept was yet to reply back to me. So today i got a call on my alternate number saying that my phone needs to be sent to abroad country to the headquarters of my parent banking company to check for any possible data regarding clients personal info. If any data is found for e.g photos of monitor or codes, i may loose my job and also be blacklisted. i actually had some photos of programs that i wrote just for reference and i m shit scared if they get their hands on it. i just started with my career and dont want to be blacklisted! that is worst thing that can happen to any individual to works in a IT sector. and not to forget, i kinda lost my hard earned iPhone too.

TL;DR - got my phone sent to headquarter office by playing Pokemon Go in my office where using camera is prohibited. May loose my job and get blacklisted for life.

[edit]

holy balls! Front page! thanks a lot guys for all the abuses, laughs, ideas on how to save my ass and of course my GRAMMATICAL BLUNDER (which i think brought the grammar nazi out of everyone!)

So this happened today -

i had a small meeting with my manager, HR and security head as soon as i reached office. they had my phone with them which was in a transparent ziplock bag along with a tag bearing my name. i was literally shaking thinking that they will ask me to unlock the phone as they need to ship it. then they asked me what exactly happened and i explained them each and every thing in detail. they said that somehow they managed not to send my phone overseas and have it checked themselves. so i took my phone and actually showed them Pokemon Go, how to play it and what exactly we are supposed to do. fortunately they were not in "lets fuck this guy" mood and hence gave me a nice warning and told that

***no action is being taken against me.***

DAMN! they didn't ask me to show them my photo library and asked me learn a nice lesson from this.

still cant believe what happened in last 24 hours.

  • 1.   Kindly excuse me for LOOSE, english is not my first language.
  • 2.   super thanks to all those who sent me a personal message suggesting different ways avoid the fuck up.
  • 3.   I DID NOT CATCH THAT ZUBAT LAST TIME but m gonna rape the fuck out of that it (once i reach home)
  • 4.   of course learnt a nice lesson out of it and never gonna play any bloody game at my desk. yes, i deserve all the abuses.
  • 5.   Somehow in was un-fucked and i hope people having similar work environment took a proper note of this!

CHEERS REDDIT! off to catch 'em all! ( pika pi! )

.

I guess you would risk loosing your job for a rare or legendary Pokémon. But would you also risk it for a Zubat in Pokémon Go? This guy wanted to catch one in his office. But there was one problem: Taking photos is strictly prohibited in his company...

Ha..just took my bike to catch some pokemon. Picture this: you are mid 70 y/o, seen some stuff already. Just sitting in a nice Cafe outside. It's Sunny and 1pm. Suddenly some 20y/o guy shoots around the corner with his bike. Big ass headphones, sunglasses, snapback on his head. He comes to a full stop 20 ft away from you. Quickly pulls out his phone and starts to kind of scanning his environment with it. Smiles..than giggles. Flips his fingers across the screen a few times and giggles even louder. Hes looking peaceful now. Satisfied even. He Scans around with his phone and looks up terrified as the Viewing angle of his camera hits your smiling face. You nod. He nods. Turns his bike around and gets the f out of there. That Boy is me. Im humiliated.

The brand new Pokemon Go claims its first victims. This guy actually didn´t fuck anything up. He just sees his weird behaviour through the eyes of a mid 70 y/o. Gotta catch em all, no matter what!

Pokemon Go claims its first victims

So a few hours ago I downloaded Pokemon GO (I live in New Zealand) and enjoyed walking around my city collecting items from Pokestops/ capturing Pokemon etcetera, before going home. Around half an hour ago I decided to leave my house and skate around my suburb to see if I could catch any interesting Pokemon, or gain some cool items. About 5 minutes into skating slowly down the footpath my board is blocked by an uneven surface and I go flying across it with my phone. More worried about making a painful landing, I let go off my phone and try to cushion the landing with my hands, but because my reaction time is just as fast as a sloths my face planted the same time my hands reached the pavement. My phone was also thrown directly into the ground, which cracked the screen. Now i'm at home typing this up from my laptop because my phone won't do what I want it to do.

TL;DR - Wanted to catch 'em all, ended up catching my fall (Sorta), oh, and breaking my phone.
